How it works
Answer honestly, not aspirationally
You rate how well each statement describes you on a seven-point scale. There are no right answers, and the result is only as good as how candidly you answer — rating yourself as you'd like to be produces a type that belongs to someone else.
Four scales, scored separately
Your answers are scored across the four Jungian scales rather than matched to a nearest template. Items are balanced so that agreeing with everything doesn't push you toward one pole.
A type, plus how firmly you hold it
You get four letters and the strength of each one. Anything near the middle is marked as a close call, because on those scales the letter could come out the other way on a different day.
Is this the same as the MBTI?
No — and anywhere offering you the official instrument for free is worth a second look. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® is a licensed assessment owned by The Myers-Briggs Company, and we have no affiliation with them. This test uses the same four Jungian scales, scored from public-domain research items rather than proprietary ones. That makes the method inspectable, which the licensed version isn't.
